THOMAS DAVIS

Serving Christ Through Truth, Scholarship, and Discipleship

Throughout his life, Thomas (“Tom”) Davis has pursued a single guiding principle: serving others through truth. Whether wearing the uniform of the United States Navy, mentoring college students, teaching in churches, or researching biblical apologetics, his life’s work reflects a commitment to helping people understand the reliability of God’s Word and confidently live out their Christian faith.

Growing up in an Air Force family, Tom experienced firsthand the values of discipline, integrity, and service to others. Those formative years eventually led him to enlist in the United States Navy, where he served eight years in the submarine force. Life aboard a submarine demanded technical precision, teamwork, calm decision-making under pressure, and unwavering commitment—qualities that would later shape his approach to ministry and leadership.

Following his military service, Tom sensed God directing him toward vocational ministry. Rather than simply entering pastoral ministry, he discovered a calling uniquely suited to his passion for answering difficult questions about Christianity and helping believers think critically about their faith.

His first ministry position was with Baptist Student Ministries, where he served as an intern and later as interim chapter director. Working directly with university students allowed Tom to witness the intellectual and spiritual challenges confronting young adults entering an increasingly secular culture. Those experiences confirmed the growing need for thoughtful, evidence-based Christian discipleship.

Building upon that calling, Tom joined Ratio Christi, an international apologetics ministry serving university campuses. During his five years as chapter director and Christian apologist, he taught students how biblical faith withstands careful historical investigation, philosophical inquiry, and scientific examination. He encouraged believers not merely to possess faith, but to understand why Christianity is intellectually credible and historically trustworthy.

For the past nine years, Tom has served as a Research Associate with Probe Ministries, a nationally recognized Christian worldview and apologetics ministry dedicated to helping believers think biblically about every area of life.

His ministry extends far beyond research. Tom writes educational resources, develops curriculum, presents conferences and seminars, teaches churches and small groups, mentors young adults, and leads apologetics training events designed to equip believers with practical tools for defending the Christian faith.

One of his most recognized areas of ministry includes Mind Games Camp, an intensive apologetics training program that prepares high school and college students to navigate the intellectual challenges confronting Christianity in today’s culture. Through lectures, discussions, and personal mentoring, Tom encourages students to examine difficult questions honestly while discovering that Christianity provides compelling answers grounded in history, philosophy, archaeology, and biblical revelation.

Speaking Topics

His presentations cover a broad range of subjects, including:

  • The Historical Evidence for the Resurrection of Jesus Christ

  • The Historical Reliability of the Bible

  • Arguments for the Truth of Christianity

  • The Historical Jesus

  • Biblical Worldview

  • Classical Christian Apologetics

  • The Narrative of the Bible

  • Defending the Resurrection

  • The Reliability of the Old and New Testaments

  • The Problem of Evil

  • Divine Council Theology

Tom’s academic preparation reflects his commitment to combining rigorous scholarship with practical ministry. He earned a Master of Arts in Christian Apologetics from Biola University, where he studied historical evidence, philosophy, theology, and cultural engagement. He also completed a Master of Theological Studies degree at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, further strengthening his understanding of biblical theology and Christian doctrine.

Although scholarship remains central to his ministry, Tom’s deepest passion is discipleship. He believes apologetics is not simply about winning arguments but about strengthening believers so they can live faithfully, confidently, and compassionately for Christ. His teaching consistently emphasizes that understanding biblical truth should transform both the mind and the heart.

Whether addressing a church congregation, mentoring students around a campfire, speaking at conferences, or leading classroom discussions, Tom communicates with warmth, humility, and clarity. His goal is always to make complex theological concepts understandable and applicable to everyday Christian living.

Away from public ministry, Tom treasures life with his wife, Ashley, whom he married in 2012. Together they enjoy spending time with family, caring for their dogs, following football and basketball, and practicing martial arts. Those personal interests reflect his appreciation for discipline, community, and lifelong learning.

At the heart of Tom Davis’s ministry is a simple conviction: Christian faith is grounded in truth. He believes the Bible is historically reliable, Jesus Christ truly rose from the dead, and thoughtful Christian discipleship can equip believers to face the intellectual and cultural challenges of every generation with confidence, courage, and hope.
